Independent Living does not include services designed to support activities of daily living such as dressing and grooming. Assisted Living provides a special combination of housing, personalized supportive services and healthcare designed to meet the needs of those who require help with activities of daily living. A Nursing Home, also known as a Skilled Nursing Facility, has Registered Nurses who provide 24-hour care to residents who can no longer care for themselves due to physical, emotional or mental conditions.
